Portfolio Synopsis

Our portfolio emphasizes the connection between land, fruit, and the artisans who craft their wines with honesty, respect, and terroir-specificity. Over the years, we have cultivated a collection of wines selected by eight importers, our own hand-picked direct imports, and wine in other formats. Our Italian selections, driven by tradition and the relationship between food and wine, have grown to represent nearly all of the country’s 20 regions.

We’ve greatly expanded our French selections to further our collection of wines from vignerons who farm with respect for soil life and the environment, and who produce wines without additives or unnecessary manipulation. Wines, in other words, that focus on terroir and honesty. We are continuing down this path into other regions as well, including Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, the United States, and beyond.

What Is Natural Wine?

Natural wines are low-tech or no-tech. They are handmade wines in the truest sense of the word, produced by a group of passionate winemakers that go one step further than organic and biodynamic methods. In practice, this means no laboratory yeasts, enzymes, sugar, or artificial concentrators. Acidification is not used, no sulfites are added during fermentation, and the wines are aged and bottled without stabilizers, excessive filtering, or sulfites.

Handcrafted

Natural wines are crafted by grower-producers who take special care to reduce yields, handpick the grapes, avoid pumps or other rough treatment of their harvest, and plow the earth between the vines, which forces the roots to dive down in a thirsty quest for terroir. Natural wines are pure wines, real wines, wines from the terroir that satisfy the soul, the needs of the environment, and the thirst of the consumer.

Importers

At Artisan’s Cellar, we take pride in bringing our customers the best wine available on the market. Together with our importers, we look for wine that is crafted with respect for the environment.
